I'm a foreign student at level 300 in the university of Ghana. My brothers and i helped this Nigerian guy who claims family abuse and financial struggles. The Nigerian guy eats a lot, borrows money with fake promises of repayment, and acts suspiciously. When money goes missing from my youngest brother, I suspected the Nigerian guy .I confronted him but he denied everything and left angrily our dorm room. Later, he overheard Mr saying negative comments about him where i said he was heartless for taking my brother's money and he cut ties with me and not my brothers, showing his aggressive behavior. I feel guilty for what i said but I stood by my suspicions despite lacking concrete proof. Also my two friends told me he told them that I gave him something when he was intimate with me and I was like WTF cause that shit never happened. So I was angry and boiling with rage on what I heard after my two supposed close friends told me what he said. I went to confront this guy about why he would tell my two guy friends on why he told them I gave him an STI and I was upset and he called his Nigerian friend who was told him about the matter that I confronted him on and he said my two friends will come over to my brother's place so we'll discuss this matter so I was like okay but if they come I would come over to talk. So after that later in the evening one of my classmates called for me to have a study group and I went over to her place, then my younger brother called me and told me that I had to come back to their place because the two guys plus the thief was there so I had gotten a taxi and came back to my brother's hostel only to see the angry looking faces of the two Nigerian guys so we went outside to talk and Nigerian guy who was my friend for two years told me to recount what he told me and when I did he denied everything and said it was me.He twisted everything he told me amd with that the other Nigerian guy and my friend were about to beat me if not for the Ghanaian guy who stood in the way to stop him from trying to hit me I would have been dead. So I was very upset and disappointed in my friend because I thought he would have my back but this situation had shown me that he was not a true friend but a fake friend and was only defending the guy because he was Nigerian just like him ,Nigerian to fellow Nigerian. So I called my other friend and I told him about the incident and he went to confront the Nigerian guy who was also his friend and he apologised to my friend about what he tried to do to me but he said that he cannot trust me and said that I twist words and I was spreading rumours about him but I don't even do that at all so why would i spread rumors about my friends either so why would he think I'm talking about him to people. Cause I had a lot of respect for him in the beginning but now I don't, I'm simply disgusted of him and afraid of him as well. Am I wrong for confronting the guy on the rumour he said to my two friends ? and am I wrong for saying that the Nigerian guy was heartless for stealing my younger brother's money ?
